Introduction

Friends of the Western Ground Parrot is a community group dedicated to the recovery of the Western Ground Parrot, an unusual Western Australian bird which could soon become extinct. The group was formed in 2003 when it had become clear that ground parrot numbers had declined dramatically in one of its three known population sites, Waychinicup, and when there was no-one studying the birds fulltime.

One of the group’s goals has been creating awareness of this elusive and difficult-to-study parrot. A bi-monthly newsletter has been distributed ever since. This blog archives these newsletters from June 2005 until the present.

The pdf format is used and there are some formatting faults that have been exaggerated by the blog process.

Instructions for Viewing

When viewing you will first presented with a small page. This is the first page of the document. Explore the newsletters with the mouse.

Basic Instructions;

1. Click on the first page as it is presented to zoom in.

2. Use the mouse to move the page around. Some people prefer to drag the page with the left mouse button held down. In that case goto the top menu and select the "Drag" option. The icon for "drag" or "read" looks like a circle. You cannot see this top menu until you have zoomed in initially.

3. To turn pages, use the mouse and click the arrow to the 'right or left' that is on the middle left and/or right of the page.

4. The top menu, once zoomed in, also has the option to zoom in further (slider on the right) or close the page completely as defined by the cross on the right of the menu.
