Introduction

Friends of the Western Ground Parrot
is a community group dedicated to the recovery of the Western Ground Parrot, an unusual Western Australian bird which could soon become extinct. The group was formed in 2003 when it had become clear that ground parrot numbers had declined dramatically in one of its three known population sites, Waychinicup, and when there was no-one studying the birds fulltime.

One of the group’s goals has been creating awareness of this elusive and difficult-to-study parrot. A bi-monthly newsletter has been distributed ever since. This blog archives these newsletters from June 2005 until the present.

The pdf format is used and there are some formatting faults that have been exaggerated by the blog process.

For help or further information, put BLOG QUERIES in the subject heading and address to pwazzx@gmail.com
